The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is Pakistan's apex tax collection authority, responsible for administering customs, income tax, sales tax, and federal excise duties under the Ministry of Finance. With a mandate spanning revenue collection, trade facilitation, customs enforcement, and anti-smuggling operations, FBR is central to Pakistan's economic governance. It manages thousands of import and export consignments daily across ports, airports, and dry ports, requiring technically qualified personnel who can accurately evaluate goods for customs classification, valuation, and tariff determination.

To strengthen its customs evaluation capacity and bring specialized domain expertise into its operations, FBR has partnered with IBA Karachi — one of Pakistan's premier academic and assessment institutions — to conduct transparent, merit-based recruitment of 280 Goods Evaluators.
